《暗恋》是一出现代悲剧：江滨柳与云之凡因战乱在上海相遇、离散，后不约而同来到台湾却互不知情，苦恋四十年才得以相见，彼时男婚女嫁，江滨柳已濒临病终。《桃花源》是一出古装喜剧：渔夫老陶之妻春花与房东袁老板私通，老陶出走桃花源，归来后春花已与袁老板成家生子。此时剧场突然停电，一个寻找男友的陌生女子在剧场中跑过…… Secret Love is modern tragedy: Jiang Binliu and Yun Zhifan meet in wartime Shanghai and part, flee separately to Taiwan without knowing, and only reunite after forty years — both already married, Jiang Binliu near death. Peach Blossom Land is period comedy: fisherman Lao Tao's wife Chunhua and landlord Yuan carry on an affair; Lao Tao finds utopia and returns to a changed home. Then the lights go out, and a stranger runs through the theatre calling for her lover.
